Working Advice

I just had the funniest conversation. Jenn and I are both in like with shy guys and we took the opportunity of each other's company to gripe about the whole waiting game and not wanting to be too pushy. We were in need of some male opinions, and that's when Aaron walked by. We yelled his name in giddy excitement and he jumped. In a high-pitched reply he yelled, "What?!?" We giggled and apologized for startling him, then asked him what a girl should do to get his attention.

"Um, I dunno. Walk up to me and flash her boobs..."

We then remembered that Aaron was NOT a shy guy, and having been married for several years, is now a completely tapped resource and not very helpful. He did add a few more serious suggestions, "Hell, just ask him out!" I mentioned that he not-too-recently broke up with his fiancee. However, his best idea was came about when I mentioned that my crush works at an art store.

Aaron grimaced, then smiled, and said, "Walk in there with a big t-shirt that says 'Rebound Girl' in big letters."

Me: *Sigh...* "Um, I dunno. Maybe not..."

Aaron: "Well, he likes art. Maybe if you hand painted the letters onto the t-shirt..."

*Jenn and I are crying from laughter*

Me: "Hmm, he was an art major, but he doesn't look like one. I mean, he dresses well...and, like, with colors...other than black."

Jenn: "Or go in there with a blank t-shirt and hand him some finger paints!!!"

Aaron: "Ooh! Better yet! give him some body paint and invite him over to paint Monet on your back.

Jenn: "He's a painter! He'll appreciate the body paint."

It continued on like this for about 10 minutes. Finally, Daniel, the shy guy of the office, came strolling by and we jumped at the chance to peck at his brain. "DANIEL!!!"

Jenn: "Can we ask you something? Eustilly likes this shy guy..."

Me: "...and he works at an art store!"

Jenn: "How do you get the attention of a very shy guy?"

Daniel: "Sex." Good ole, shy, trusty Daniel. Thanks, buddy!

Daniel did have the solution. Instead of asking him out myself, he suggested I ask our mutual friends the married couple to help out and inform him that my Columbus Day barbecue will be THE place to be that weekend and that they are definitely going and that he should to. Good plan, I should say.

Now I just have to have a barbecue on Columbus Day weekend...
